Mosaic Considers Special Dividend, May Acquire Phosphate Assets, CEO Says Mosaic Co., North America’s second-largest fertilizer producer, said it’s considering payment of aspecial dividend this year and acquiring makers of phosphate-crop nutrients.
The company is a “willing buyer” of “regional”producers of phosphate fertilizers Chief Executive Officer James Prokopanko said today in a telephone interview. It’s alsoconsidering buying phosphate-rock reserves, he said.
Mosaic paid a special dividend last year of $1.30 a share.
